The Special Day:
We went to view the River Court and when we met Sharon we knew straight away that this was the venue for us. The outside area is absolutely incredible and the view of the castle is so romantic. Any questions we had were always answered straight away and we felt part of the River Court family from the moment we set the date. For us one of the best highlights was Noel saying a blessing for us before we ate the meal. All of the members of staff were so friendly and Emma Jane is an absolute pro working her magic and getting the most delicious food out to all of us. I couldn't stop smiling from the moment we stepped into the venue. All of our guests commented on how amazing the food was and we were made feel so special at our menu tasting getting to try so many different options. The reception room is gorgeous and the outside area for the reception was so special. We got the most stunning pictures with our families and having Kilkenny Castle just a stones throw away for portraits was such a bonus. We got the most incredible evening pictures with the Castle in the background while the band was setting up. Another highlight for us was having our top table in and around our guests. Feeling the love from everyone and looking around at all of our nearest and dearest was so special. One thing that made the day so special and personal for us was the fresh flowers on each table and the gorgeous spray of flowers at the top table made the place look so stunning. We brought all of our bits and pieces to the River Court the day before and everything was put out so beautifully on the day. It was literally seamless from beginning to end.
The Advice:
"Go and stay in your venue and get to know the staff. It will make the day so special and we now feel even more special every time we visit as people are so lovely and remember us. Think about what you would like your day to look like. What vibe and how you would like to achieve that. Chip away at little jobs throughout your engaged time so when it comes close to the wedding everything won't feel to overwhelming and you can soak in every moment."

The Special Day:
"The Kilkenny River Court Hotel has always held a special place in my husband’s heart and his family’s as well. We had an outdoor ceremony here and our guests were seated against the breathtaking backdrop of Kilkenny Castle, surrounded by beautiful gardens and floral displays. Afterwards, we were greeted with champagne and warm hugs from the staff. The food exceeded all our expectations. The whole day, we didn’t have to ask for anything, as everything happened naturally, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in each moment. The funny factor: There were a few funny moments throughout the day. The first happened right after James and I said ‘I do’. As we were walking back down the aisle through a beautiful archway, my veil got stuck! The hotel coordinators had to help free me, and we all ended up laughing, including our guests."
The Advice:
"Focus on what makes you both happy and do what you want as it’s your special day. Stay organised to minimise stress, and keep in mind that it is what it is, and everything will work out. Enjoy every moment, as time really flies. It will truly be the best day of your life!"
