The following are the choices available all of which are located less than twenty minutes from the hotel.
KILKENNY GOLF CLUB
This course located just five minutes from the Hotel is of championship standard and is set on 120 acres of parkland and measures 5,933 metres with a par of 71. It is a popular venue for regional play-offs and finals in the Leinster area and has hosted the All Ireland Cups and Shields finals. The course is mostly flat terrain with an abundance of trees. Notable features are the difficult par threes, the long par four eleventh and the final four holes which have ruined many a fine card. The course is based on a sand pit; this means that the drainage is very good and seldom has to close due to heavy rainfall. The greens are also sand based and even if exceptionally heavy rain falls, the greens would be playable after half an hour. The course has undergone significant enhancement over the years and is playable all year round.
GOWRAN PARK GOLF CLUB
Located just fifteen minutes’ drive from the Hotel, Gowran Park developed this unique 18 hole golf course to compliment its renowned race meetings in 2001. Incorporating a mixture of established woodland and lakes, this Jeff Howes designed par 71, 18 hole golf course provides an excellent test for the low handicap golfer whilst also being very enjoyable for the middle to high handicappers.

MOUNT JULIET GOLF CLUB
A Jack Nicklaus designed championship 18-hole golf course, Mount Juliet is the jewel in the crown of golf in Kilkenny. Less than twenty minutes’ drive from The Kilkenny River Court Hotel features include the stunning 3rd hole, a par 3 from an elevated tee to a green guarded by a natural stream and lake ... one that golfers always remember. Also the par 5, 10th hole with its copse of trees which tests the golfers strategy. The final hole, a long par 4 with water all down the left and a narrow approach to the green has decided many a tournament result.
CASTLECOMER GOLF CLUB
A new 18 hole golf course located less than twenty minutes drive from The Kilkenny River Court Hotel. Set in a 200 year old forest, Castlecomer's course provides a great test of golf combined with breathtaking views of the local terrain. With the development of this course completed in 2003, it is clear to everyone at Castlecomer Golf Club that Pat Ruddy has designed a unique Golf Course.
