At the Kilkenny River court Hotel we pride ourselves in our cuisine. Our Executive Head Chef is Gerard Dunne.

Ger, has extensive experience at some of the top hotels and restaurants in the world. Continental work includes working in Michelin star restaurants in France and Switzerland and not to mention Raymond Blanc’s sumptuous restaurant and country house hotel, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, where he learned at the hands of the master.

Since his return to Ireland in April 2005, he relishes the challenge of creating delicious food using local sought seasonal ingredients for the hotels daily menus.

Born and raised in Thomastown, Gerard trained at the Dublin College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies. He spent a staggering 14 years on board Cunard’s flagship Queen Elizabeth 2, where he was directly in charge of the ”Queens Grill” Restaurant which was included in ‘Vogues’ Top most Exclusive Restaurants in the World.

His skills have been recognised by a number of prestigious awards, which he obtained while working on board the QE2 including gold and silver medals at the National Salon Culinaire Awards.

Today he overseas the 3 dining outlets at the Kilkenny River Court Hotel, the Riverside Restaurant, Yindees Thai Oriental Downtown & the Terrace Kitchen at the Riverview Bar.
